Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to load/unload truck, exchange and connect LPG cylinders
- Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental and sustainable energy policies and procedures for the work are obtained and applied
- Recommendations to assist with the loading, applying cylinder load restraint, unloading and exchanging of gas cylinders are made to others involved in the work as required
- Hazards and WHS/OHS risks are identified and prioritised and control measures implemented and monitored
- Equipment, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the job are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety in accordance with workplace procedures
- Safety and emergency response procedures and responsibilities for first aid at the work site are confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Client/customer issues are referred to appropriate person/s in accordance with workplace procedures and industry standards
- Site is prepared to minimise risk and damage to property, commerce and individuals in accordance with job instructions, work schedule and workplace procedures
- Load/unload truck, exchange and connect LPG cylinders
- Hazardous activities are performed safely in accordance with job instructions, regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- Truck is correctly positioned for the loading, unloading and exchanging of gas cylinders to ensure completion in agreed timeframes with a minimum of waste and to industry standards
- Loading, applying cylinder load restraint, transporting, unloading, exchanging and connection of gas cylinders is conducted in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures
- Gas connection between cylinder and gas installation is leak tested to ensure gas cylinder tightness
- Potential hazards and safety risks are identified and reported to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
- Unplanned and non-routine events and are referred to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting techniques are applied to problems encountered with the loading, unloading and exchanging of gas cylinders to ensure work schedule and job requirements are met
- Quality and safety checks of the work are conducted in accordance with job requirements, industry standards and workplace procedures
- Complete work and relevant documentation
- Accidents and incidents are actioned and reported to relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Work site is cleaned up and made safe in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures
- Tools, equipment and any surplus resources and materials are cleaned, checked and returned to storage in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s are notified of work completion in accordance with workplace procedures
- Delivery documentation and work completion records, report forms and data sheets are completed in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures
